The Spanish driver Víctor Manuel Jiménez has caught this weekend at Donington Park British a sensational performance after signing a double podium in the second round of this season’s Porsche Carrera Cup UK. After the second and third place at Donington Park, Victor secures the third place in the championship with a total of 60 points.

After the official qualifying session held at Thruxton last week, where he signed the best record, Victor came to this new round with confidence to be within the lead group. In the first trainings at Donington, Victor signed the second fastest time only four thousandths of Meadows, but once in qualifying sessions a strategy mistake didn’t allow him to improve the fifth.

In the first race he signed a good start and gained two places, going third in the first lap. Being faster than the first two pilots, the Spanish one risked to try to hunt down the leaders when a mistake cost him an off track he would save, reaching at the end his first podium of the category Pro. The start of the second set has been released and before arriving at the first curve, the leader Michael Meadows suffered an off track while Victor fit into third place after Josh Webster and Karl Leonard. The Spanish driver overtook Leonard, and two laps later the rain suddenly appeared and caused several off tracks. Webster took advantage of the situation and entered to the box to change the tires for rain ones; being the only one of the pilots who took that strategy; and leaving Victor as the race leader, a position he held until one lap to the end of the race, when Webster, with rain tires, regained the first place and ended with the victory.

We’re improving race by race.” – Says the Spanish pilot “I can’t be more pleased, we have led the race and we go out from Donington with two podiums but more importantly I’m feeling that we have greatly improved our pace, and that we are stronger and more competitive than I imagined. “- Sentence.
