Podium of Víctor Jiménez at Silverstone
Silverstone has hosted this weekend scoring the ninth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain. The British track has been the site of a new struggle by the Spanish pilot Victor Manuel Jiménez to get into the top three overall. After a podium finish in the first heat, and lack only one round, fourth is 21 points behind third placed Briton Paul Rees.
After sorting room to get the grid for both rounds, the pilot achieved Redline Racing move up to grab a podium finish after fighting for victory and stay within half second of it.
In the second race an incident when he was fighting for third place would leave him out of the race.
“I am satisfied despite not finishing the second race. I’ve noticed more comfortable than ever, I rode to the sound of men head and I have been very close to victory. My pace was very strong and I set the fastest lap, but in the end I almost Meadows has become removed. Anyway it shows how much we have improved and I feel happy with the pace of the weekend.”
The last round of the season will take place at Brands Hatch GP layout of the next 11 and 12 October.
